Finding jewellery that actually lasts shouldn't be so hard.

Long before Osealina Jewellery existed, our founder Mel spent years travelling the world, chasing waves, exploring coastlines, and living an adventurous lifestyle. Along the way, she discovered a frustrating problem that many women know all too well.

Beautiful jewellery would quickly tarnish, turn her skin green, irritate her ears, or simply break after only a short time. Even pieces advertised as "waterproof" often failed to live up to their promises and at least turned silver withhin a day. 

Mel wanted gold jewellery she could wear every day without worrying about taking it off before swimming, surfing, travelling, or simply living life. She wanted pieces that looked beautiful but were also made to last.

So the search began.

Over several years, Mel researched the jewellery industry, attended international jewellery trade fairs, spoke with manufacturers, tested countless materials, and learned everything she could about jewellery production.

Eventually, she found the material that met all her requirements: a hypoallergic marine grade stainless steel.

Unlike many traditional fashion jewellery materials, marine grade stainless steel is highly resistant to oxidation, making it an excellent choice for waterproof and tarnish resistant jewellery. The next challenge was finding trusted manufacturing partners who shared our commitment to quality. This meant visiting factories, sourcing reliable suppliers, testing components, and refining every detail until we found partners we could trust.

Today, our carefully selected components are produced by experienced manufacturers and then thoughtfully assembled by Mel and her team in Byron Bay, Australia. Each piece is designed to capture the feeling of endless summers, salty air, ocean adventures, and freedom.
